Holy Eucharist
"The holy Eucharist completes Christian initiation. Those who have been raised to the dignity of the royal priesthood by Baptism and configured more deeply to Christ by Confirmation participate with the whole community in the Lord's own sacrifice by means of the Eucharist."
- Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) - 1322
Through the holy Eucharist, we receive Jesus Christ, who gives Himself to us in His body, blood, soul and divinity. This intimate union with Christ both signifies and strengthens our union with Him and His Church. Jesus speaks of the importance of Holy Communion when He states, “unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink His blood, you have no life in you.” Because Holy Eucharist unites us to Jesus, it also strengthens us against sin, helps us to live a Christian life and prepares us for the heavenly banquet.
Christ is present in the Holy Eucharist, which is therefore to be honored and adored. During the Mass, the bread and wine are transubstantiated into the flesh and blood of Christ so that only the appearance of bread and wine remains. The whole Christ is present and is received by the communicant.

Home Communion
At Sts. Peter & Paul, we provide parishioners the ability to receive the holy Eucharist at home when there is a physical inability to attend Mass. Our dedicated Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion visit with and distribute communion to our local homebound parishioners on Friday mornings.
If you or someone you know from the parish is homebound and desires to receive this sacrament, please contact the parish office.
If you are an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion (or would like to become one) and have an interest in helping with this rewarding ministry, please contact the parish office.
