Bereavement Meal Ministry
"Love and charity are service - helping others, serving others." - Pope Francis
Our Bereavement Meal Ministry provides a home-cooked meal for family and friends who have lost a loved one. The meal is served following the funeral Mass. Our parish is grateful to be able to provide the grieving family with a much-needed environment where family and friends can gather after a funeral. This time allows family and friends to visit and comfort one another as the grieving process continues.
Our Bereavement Meal Ministry served its first meal on February 25, 1995. We now have 5 dedicated teams with more than 250 volunteers who share their talents and time with those who have experienced a loss of a loved one. Our teams work on a rotating basis.
New volunteers are always welcome to donate a dish or help serve the meal. If you would like to join this ministry, please contact Kim Goedde at 812-768-6457 or [email protected].
